Foreward Privacy Policy
Foreward (the “App”) helps parents and guardians plan and track their child’s development from birth to age 18. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. Foreward is intended for use by adults (parents/guardians) in the United States, not by children.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address and the details you use to sign in.
- Child profile information you enter: a child’s first name or nickname, date of birth, ZIP code, selected goals, and chosen journey pathways. You provide this; it is used only to personalize the roadmap shown to you.
- Progress data: which milestones you mark complete and your notification and email-digest preferences.
- Purchase information: if you subscribe to Foreward Pro, Apple or Google processes the payment and RevenueCat validates it. We receive your subscription status, not your card details.
- Waitlist: if you join a waitlist for an upcoming feature, the email address you submit for that purpose.
- Device and log information: your IP address and basic technical data our servers record when the App connects, and a device identifier that links your install to your account. Reminders you turn on are scheduled on your device.
- Diagnostic & usage data: device type, operating system, app version, an app-instance identifier, crash and error reports, and which features are used. See Analytics and diagnostics below.
What we do NOT collect
We don’t knowingly collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or passwords for other services. We don’t sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising. We don’t show ads from ad networks in the App, and we don’t use advertising IDs. Some links may be labeled affiliate links (see Service providers).
How we use your information
- To provide and personalize the App’s milestone roadmap and recommendations.
- To send the reminders and the optional weekly email digest you opt into.
- To process and restore subscription purchases.
- To maintain, secure, and improve the App.
Service providers
We share limited data with companies that process it for us, under our instructions:
- Supabase — database, sign-in, and server functions. Stores your account, child profiles, and progress in the United States.
- Apple App Store and Google Play — process subscription payments under their own privacy policies.
- RevenueCat — validates subscriptions. Receives an account ID and purchase records, not your email or child information.
- Resend — sends the Pro weekly digest if you turn it on. Receives your email address and the digest content, which includes your child’s first name, age, and suggested milestones.
- Google Maps Platform — powers nearby school and program search. Our server sends Google your ZIP code and search term. Google doesn’t receive your name, your child’s information, or your device’s IP address.
- Google Analytics for Firebase and Sentry — usage analytics and crash reporting. See below.
Affiliate links. Some links may be affiliate links, and we label them. Tapping one takes you to the partner’s site, which collects information under its own privacy policy. We’ll update this policy before we share any information about you with an affiliate partner.
Analytics and diagnostics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to see which features people use, and Sentry to find and fix crashes.
Firebase receives events from a fixed list we define (for example, “milestone viewed” with a broad age range like “3-5”), events Google collects automatically (such as first open and session start), your device type, operating system, app version, an app-instance identifier, and an approximate region Google derives from your IP address.
Sentry receives crash and error reports: device type, operating system, app version, a random installation ID, and the screens and taps just before the error. We set Sentry to remove email addresses and long number strings (like dates and ZIP codes) from reports and not to store IP addresses. Reports aren’t tied to your account.
We never send your email, your child’s name, birthdate, or ZIP code to either tool. We don’t use them for advertising or to track you across other companies’ apps or websites. Firebase keeps event data for 2 months and user-level data for 14 months after your last use of the App. Sentry keeps crash data for 30 days.
Children’s privacy
Foreward is for adults. It isn’t directed to children under 13, and children shouldn’t create accounts or use the App.
Parents and guardians may choose to enter limited information about their child: a first name or nickname, date of birth, ZIP code, goals, and progress. We use it only to personalize your roadmap and, if you turn it on, your weekly digest. We don’t sell it, use it for advertising, or send it to our analytics or crash-reporting tools. You can edit or delete it anytime in Settings, or delete everything by deleting your account.
If you think a child has given us information directly, email support@goforeward.app and we’ll delete it.
Your choices and rights
- Access & edit: view or change your child profiles and preferences in Settings.
- Get a copy or correct something: email us and we’ll respond within 45 days.
- Delete: delete your account in the App anytime. See below.
- Notifications & email: turn push notifications and the weekly digest on or off in Settings. Every digest has an unsubscribe link.
If we can’t fulfill a request, we’ll tell you why. You can reply to appeal, and we’ll review it again.
How to delete your Foreward data
In the App: go to Settings, tap Delete Account, then confirm. Your account is deleted right away.
By email: if you can’t get into the App, email support@goforeward.app from your account email with the subject “Delete my Foreward account.” We’ll verify the request and delete your data within 30 days.
Deleting your account doesn’t cancel Foreward Pro. Apple or Google keeps billing until you cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Cancel first to avoid another charge.
What’s deleted: your account and login, email address, child profiles (name, birthdate, ZIP code, goals, journeys), milestone progress, notification and digest settings, waitlist entries linked to your account, and our subscription record at RevenueCat. If you joined a waitlist before creating an account, email us to remove that entry too.
What may remain: Apple and Google keep their own purchase records. Analytics and crash data that isn’t linked to your account expires on the schedule above. Backups are overwritten within 7 days. We keep records the law requires, such as tax records, only as long as required. Data stored only on your device, like Action Pack checklists, is removed when you uninstall the App.
Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete it right away, except for the items listed under “What may remain.”
Data security
Data sent between the App and our servers is encrypted in transit, and our database provider encrypts stored data at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit access to your data to what’s needed to run Foreward.
Where your data is stored
We’re based in the United States, store data in the United States, and offer Foreward only in the United States.
Your state privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states, you may have the right to know what we collect, get a copy, correct it, delete it, and opt out of the sale of your data, targeted advertising, or profiling. We don’t sell or share your personal information, including information about children, as California law defines those terms. We don’t use it for targeted advertising or profiling, so there’s nothing to opt out of.
We honor these requests for every user, no matter where you live. Use the App or email us. We may need to confirm your identity, and you can use an authorized agent. We won’t treat you differently for using these rights.
Do Not Track: the App doesn’t respond to Do Not Track browser signals, because we don’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we’ll tell you in the App before it takes effect, and by email when the change affects how we use or share your data. The effective date at the top shows the current version. Past versions are available on request.
